Earlier this month, the Humane Society of Durham Region welcomed the community for an incredible open house event filled with fun, food, and fantastic company. We couldn’t be more grateful for the overwhelming support from our community!

A day full of fun and activities

The open house on June 8 was bustling with over 20 vendors, each bringing unique and delightful offerings. From local crafts to pet supplies, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Domino’s Pizza kept the crowd satisfied with delicious slices, while a food truck served up mouth-watering authentic Jamaican food.

Kids’ zone and raffle extravaganza

The Kids’ Zone was a highlight of the day, providing endless entertainment for our youngest attendees. The games, bouncy house and face painting station were bustling with activity and laughter.

The raffle table and bake sale were both incredibly popular, selling out quickly thanks to the generosity of our supporters. The 50/50 draw added an extra layer of excitement, with the lucky winner taking home over $300!

Heartfelt thanks to volunteers and supporters

We extend our deepest gratitude to the 20 volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to make this day possible. Your continued support is invaluable, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

A special thank you goes out to the team from Laval Drive RBC. Not only did they bring 10 volunteers, but they also generously donated $1,000 for the animals in our care. Your kindness and support mean the world to us and the animals we serve.

An outstanding success

After counting and calculating, we’re thrilled to announce that the open house raised over $6,000! This incredible achievement wouldn’t have been possible without everyone who attended, donated to the bake sale, participated in the raffle, and supported our vendors. Your contributions make a real difference in the lives of the animals we care for!

Save the date for our Tay-Tay Par-Tay for Chari-Tay

Mark your calendars for our next exciting event, the Tay-Tay Par-Tay for Chari-Tay, happening on Nov. 9 at Bond St. Events in Oshawa. It’s going to be a fantastic evening, and we can’t wait to see you all there!
